Senior Writer/Producer/Director/Editor/Engineer, July 2015–Present
Responsibilities include creating public diplomacy video content for social media, broadcast, and live events. Generating creative briefs, writing scripts, storyboarding, crewing, directing shoots, shooting, editing, color correction, audio mixing, archiving, mentoring junior staff, and delivering high-quality content in a fast-paced, collaborative environment for both domestic and international audiences. Communicating directly with high level personnel including U.S. Ambassadors, the Secretary of State, and the White House. Traveling internationally to support the Secretary and U.S. Embassy staff. Acting as technical engineer for 22 edit suites, 120TB SAN, DAM, and 24 mobile workstations with access to virtual MAM utilizing AWS cloud technology. Pitched, produced, and mixed the State Department’s first podcast series.

Responsibilities included writing and editing broadcast promos, press reels, Up Front sizzles, and additional marketing content in support of the Executive team. This included providing technical consulting between producers, production companies, and third party vendors to ensure broadcast standards were achieved.

Responsibilities included maintaining a 60TB SAN, build and support seven edit suites (Mac & PC), edit promos, and create custom production, archival, and best practices workflows for a facility producing over 200 television ads a year.

Responsibilities included concept creation, script writing, storyboarding, editing, motion graphics, visual effects, and hiring/management of five staff editors for the creation of more than 400 broadcast high-definition commercials, web videos, and public service announcements.

Responsibilities included editing broadcast TV shows, long form documentaries, political campaign ads, corporate and museum pieces, government training videos, public services announcements, video news releases, and infomercials.

Responsibilities included logging and digitizing footage using Final Cut Pro and Avid Media Composer, Tape/DVD duplication, standards conversions, patching and routing facility tape decks, media archiving for 30TB XSAN, QC broadcast TV shows, and closed captioning/encoding.

Responsibilities included video editing with Avid Express and camera operator for 100+ cable TV commercials across the MidAtlantic. This included extensive lighting, steadicam, jib, and dolly operation as well as production budgeting, accounting, and script writing.
